Dr. Matthias Schonlau is the 2018 winner of the . The National Institute of Statistical Sciences is the US-based National Institute of Statistical Sciences. His citation reads: “Honoring his distinguished career as a research statistician in both industry and academia, especially his contributions in the area of survey methodology.â€

Professor Matthew Scott has been awarded theÌýFaculty of Mathematics Award for Distinction in Teaching. This award is given annually toÌýteachers in the Faculty of Mathematics who have consistently demonstrated outstanding pedagogical skills and a deep commitment to our students’ education. Up to two awards are given annually. Prof. Ross Willard (Pure Mathematics) also received the award this year. Congratulations!
