The recipientsÌýareÌýchosenÌýbasedÌýon the impact they have made with theirÌýemployers, work term evaluations, community involvement, academic achievement and their promotion of the Co-operative Education program.Ìý

The ceremony will also honour the 2023 Co-opÌýProblem AwardÌýrecipients. These awards are granted each term to co-op students whoÌýhave found and analyzed a strategically important problem affecting their employer. Winners are chosen based on how well their analysis aligns with the Problem LabÌýmethodology.

Dr. Vivek Goel
President and Vice-Chancellor, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ
Vivek Goel, MD, is a distinguished scholar with extensive achievements in research, teaching and leadership across both public and private sectors. He is recognized in Canada and around the world as a leading public-health researcher, health-services evaluation expert, and champion for the use of research evidence in health policy-making.
Goel has extensive experience in governance and serves on the boards of the Canadian Institute for Health Information (as Chair), the POST Promise as well as Chair of the Expert Advisory Group on the development of a Pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy. He is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, a fellow of the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, and a Member of the Order of Canada.

Norah McRae
Associate Provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education
Norah McRae, PhD, is associate provost, Co-operative and Experiential Education (CEE) at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. Her involvement in co-operative and work-integrated education spans more than 20 years, over which time she has led strategic program development and research on student engagement, community-engaged learning and intercultural competency development.

Ross Johnston
Executive Director, Co-operative and Experiential Education
As the executive director, Co-operative Education, Ross is accountable for ensuring an effective and appropriate work-integrated learning journey for students within co-op programs. Through his leadership, Co-operative Education maintains and enhances the relationships between more than 7,100 organizations across 60 countries, and over 22,400 students at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.

John Dick
Director of Velocity Campus
John Dick, PhD, is the Director of Concept. He oversees the operations of Concept programming on campus and is in charge of creating inspiring experiences for students who are interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. John also acts as a Business Advisor to startups in deeptech for the Velocity Incubator.
