An op-ed is an opinion piece expressing the viewpoint of the author who wrote it. However, unlike a personal diary or reflection piece, op-eds are informed by evidence, which involves acquiring facts, figures, and/or statistics about the subject matter. Op-Eds are persuasive pieces of writing that require rhetorical strategies in order to be convincing. This workshop will teach you strategies to engage your audience, structure your argument, and integrate analysis into your op-ed to help you craft a piece that is both persuasive and exciting for your audience to read.Â
