United College Celebrates International Development Graduates with Ring Ceremony

by Davandra Earle, Communications Officer

Last week United College proudly hosted its annual Ring Ceremony for students completing the Bachelors in Environmental Studies with a specialization in International Development. The event welcomed nine graduating students who had earlier crossed the stage at the University of 蓝莓视频鈥檚 convocation and then returned to the College to mark this special milestone among friends, family, and faculty.

The intimate ceremony was well-attended and meaningful, offering students a chance to reflect on their journey and celebrate within the United College community. Each student received a symbolic ring, a longstanding tradition that represents their academic accomplishments, commitment to global development, and continued connection to United College.

Principal Rick Myers offered words of encouragement and recognition during the ceremony.

鈥淵ou鈥檝e chosen a path that challenges you to think critically and act compassionately,鈥 said Principal Myers. 鈥淎s you go out into the world, carry with you not just what you鈥檝e learned, but the values that brought you here. You鈥檝e made us proud.鈥

For Professor John Abraham, the Ring ceremony is something he looks forward to every year where students celebrate the culmination of their academic journey with their biggest supporters: family, friends and fellow students.

Abraham, who is also the Academic Dean at United College added, 鈥淭he transformational education that they receive through this program sets them up for a lifetime of really making a difference in the world.鈥

The College extends its heartfelt congratulations to the International Development Class of 2025 and wishes them continued success in their next chapters.
