The St. Paul’s À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Department is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Fletcher, our Residence Life Coordinator, is this year’s recipient of the Ontario Association of College and University Housing Officers (OACUHO) President’s Award.Ìý

The OACUHO President’s Award is presented to someone who continuously demonstrates a motivating and supportive work ethic and goes out of their way to have a positive impact on the people they interact with. They also, on a regular basis, go above and beyond their daily job description.ÌýThese are both attributes that Elizabeth has demonstrated over the past 4+ years as theÌýResidence Life Coordinator.Ìý

Elizabeth works tirelessly to ensure our residence community is a safe and respectful place forÌýstudents,ÌýstaffÌýand visitors.ÌýShe implements conduct and wellness initiatives withinÌýResidence to make sure our students feel supported and areÌýcontinuously learning. She is an incredible leader, advisor and supervisor for ourÌýResidenceÌýDon team,ÌýLivingÌýLearningÌýCommunityÌýPrograms andÌýPeerÌýLeaders. Elizabeth runs events and community engagement opportunities for ourÌýcurrentÌýstudents to continue to buildÌýrelationshipsÌýwith each other.ÌýShe alsoÌýacts as a liaison and recruiter for future studentsÌýtoÌýgrow ourÌýSt. Paul’sÌýcommunity,Ìýwhether that is through social media or in-person/virtual tours of our facilities.ÌýIn her free time,ÌýElizabethÌýpresentsÌýtheÌýSafeTalkÌýprogramÌýfor departments acrossÌýthe University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ campus. This program works to ensureÌýcommunities areÌýalert to the possibility of suicide and teachesÌýstaffÌýhow they canÌýsupport othersÌýthrough crisis. Elizabeth contributes to staff culture and continually brings people together – usually through reality TVÌý competitions and celebrations of team achievements!Ìý

Elizabeth is a kind and welcoming presence for students and staff at St. Paul’s as she always goes above and beyond to make sure people feel included and are enjoying their experience. Elizabeth has been an important member of the St. Paul’s community for over 8 years and we areÌýproud to have her as a part of our community.ÌýÌý

This award is special to me as I feel like we get a lot of attention in this field when things aren’t going well but forget to celebrate when things are good.
