From Tuesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 15, the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ celebrated Convocation, sending the newest wave of ��ݮ��Ƶ grads out into the world.

Over 5,400 degrees were awarded during throughout the course of the week. From Tuesday through Friday, each day featured two ceremonies, with the final ceremony taking place Saturday morning.

"Convocation is the most special occasion at the university," said President Hamdullahpur.

On Friday, June 7, the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ celebrated the continued success of the Keystone Campaign with the event “��ݮ��Ƶ World”, a day of fun that included music, dancing, and even a dunk tank.

Designed to bring together ��ݮ��Ƶ faculty, staff, and retirees who give their time and resources to support campus-wide initiatives such as scholarships and projects to enhance the student experience, Keystone raised more than $1.3 million over the last campaign year.

On Tuesday, June 4, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) presented a gift of $1.75 million to the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ in support of the ��ݮ��Ƶ Institute's RBC Water Scholars program.

The School of Accounting and Finance, one of ten Faculty schools at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ, held its  Annual Leadership Dinner on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the National Club in Toronto to recognize and thank key volunteers and donors for their support of the school.

The university’s Senate convened for its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 21, to discuss a range of agenda items including the institution’s operating budget for 2013-2014 and the Strategic Plan.

On Wednesday, May 8 and Thursday, May 9, President Feridun Hamdullahpur and Provost Geoff McBoyle hosted a set of Town Halls designed to discuss the university’s Strategic Plan and provide an update on next steps.

The Town Halls marked the conclusion of the Strategic Plan drafting process, facilitating a gradual pivot to the approval, implementation, and accountability phases.

“I am truly energized about this plan, and about this university,” said President Hamdullahpur. “The participation from campus was fabulous.”

Renison University College, an affiliated institution at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ, on Tuesday, May 7 expanded to meet the needs of its growing programs.

On Tuesday, April 30, University of ��ݮ��Ƶ President Feridun Hamdullahpur participated in an hour-long panel discussion about the direction of post-secondary education at the 2013 Milken Institute Global Conference. The annual event, held in Santa Monica, California, is one of the world’s premier gatherings of eminent leaders, thinkers and statespersons, convened to discuss the world’s top challenges, trends, and opportunities.
