Zhongwei Chen, a chemical engineering professor, andÌýLukasz Golab, a management sciences professorÌýcross-appointed to mathematics, have been named new Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs. The announcement made April 9 by the Honourable Ed Holder, Minister of State (Science and Technology)Ìýincluded new and renewed CRCs for six other University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ professors.Ìý
Chen is theÌýCanada Research Chair in Advanced Materials for Clean Energy and Golab is the Canada Research Chair in Data Analytics for Sustainability. Both appointments are for five years. ÌýÌý
Chen was one of five professors campus wide to receiveÌý aÌý award from ÌýtheÌýCanada Foundation for Innovation to help cover infrastructure costs for his research. ÌýHe received $75,000 for his work into advanced chemical vapour deposition system for nanostructuredÌýenergy materials development.
