Electrical engineering alumni ​Dhananja (DJ) JayalathÌýandÌýChristopher Wiebe,Ìýco-founders of the California-based wearable tech companyÌý, have been named toÌýthis year's Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

AthosÌýproduces fitness apparel that measures key performance indicators such as muscle activity, heart rate, and breathing. JayalathÌýand WiebeÌýmet in secondÌýyear of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ'sÌýelectrical engineering programÌý and began developing theÌýtechnology asÌýtheirÌýCapstone Design project,Ìý.

After theyÌýgraduated in 2012, fellow À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ alumnus and venture capitalistÌýChamathÌýPalihapitiyaÌýstepped in, backingÌýAthosÌýwith $3.5 million in seed funding.ÌýPalihapitiya, who also graduated from the electrical engineering program, heads upÌýSocial + Capital PartnershipÌýand is a part-owner of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.Ìý
