Pouyan Sardashti was recently honoured with the for his doctoral thesis in the field of environmental stressÂ

Sardashti, who graduated with his PhD in chemical engineering last year, was presented with the award at the annual Borealis Innovation Day held in Linz, Austria on January 22.
The international Borealis Student Innovation Award program recognizes innovative thinking and pioneering solutions in the area of olefin, polyolefin or base chemicals research. While conducting his research Sardashti worked closely with chemical engineering faculty members Alex Penlidis and Costas Tzoganakis and civil and environment engineering faculty member Marianna Polak.
Sardashti, who also earned his BASc and MASc in chemical engineering at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, is now employed as a process development engineer for  BASF in Wyandotte, Michigan.
