À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering alumni recently gathered for a vibrant and sun-soaked celebration on campus.Â
The Engineering classes of 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019 enjoyed a weekend of reconnecting and socializing, attending lectures, exploring new buildings and celebrating this milestone in their engineering careers together. Â
The celebrations began with two special screenings of the documentary Rock This Town. The film follows the rich and surprising history of live music in the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region, largely initiated by Joe Recchia (BASc ’68, chemical engineering and MASc ’71, management sciences and systems engineering).Â
Reunion events continued with À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering dean Dr. Mary Wells delivering a visionary lecture about the future of engineering at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ followed by the Engineering Back-to-the Classroom Lecture with Dr. Larry Smith, professor of economics at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Â
Five À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering researchers gave lightning talks on their research at the Drink Talk Learn Engineering Research Talks, introducing many in the audience to the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ at 100 Global Futures vision.  Â
A social mixer at POETS, a BBQ on the E7 patio and a Reunion Dinner Party complete with displays from the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Archives added much revelry and reminiscence making it a reunion to remember.Â
