Staff Relations Committee

A member at large is needed for the Staff Relations Committee (SRC), a key forum through which we establish staff working conditions with the University. 

Staff Relations Committee (SRC) members participate in the behind-the-scenes work of creating and updating staff-related University policies (Class S policies). They are also involved in ensuring that Policy 18 - Staff Employment is adhered to in any reorganizations that may occur during their term on SRC.

A representative on the Pension and Benefits Committee is needed with the qualifications necessary to exercise care, diligence and skill in the administration of the university’s pension and benefits plan.

Area Reps Outreach Coordinator

Two new members of the Area Reps Planning Committee are needed: an outreach coordinator, and a recording secretary. The Planning Committee collectively coordinates monthly Area Reps meetings and drives engagement among representatives, with support from the UWSA Operations Team. 

The outreach coordinator works with the chair and the membership and volunteer coordinator to welcome new representatives and ensure their smooth onboarding. The outreach coordinator spearheads initiatives to recruit new area representatives as needed, with support from the UWSA Operations Team.

If you are selected for the position, your application will be kept in the UWSA Office for the duration of your term on the committee.

If you have served on any committees (or project teams, task forces, or working groups) while working at ݮƵ, please describe your involvement (committee name, role on committee, years of service, etc.).

What area are you looking to represent?

Your “area” might be your department or unit, a group of related departments/units, or a subset of a department/unit. Staff in an area should have regular contact and shared working conditions.

If an appropriate “area” is not represented in the list (e.g. a subset of a large department), or you would like to combine areas, please select "Other/Custom area" at the end of the list.

To the best of your knowledge, select one of the following ranges.

Good news! Your application to the UWSA Area Reps Council will be automatically approved, pending confirmation of your UWSA membership status.

Note that your role as an Area Rep will be posted on the Area Reps section of the UWSA website.

  1. Committing to a term of at least two years.
  2. Becoming familiar with UWSA governing documents and services.
  3. Introducing yourself to colleagues as their Area Representative.
  4. Attending monthly Area Reps meetings and participating in discussions.
  5. Communicating important information to all ݮƵ staff or just to members as appropriate.

Good news! The UWSA Fundraising and Social Committee is an informal committee and your application will be automatically approved, pending confirmation of your UWSA membership status.
