Easy way to install a Ricoh printer on a managed (Nexus) computer

Install a Ricoh printer on a managed (Nexus) computer (one where you log in with your Watiam credentials)

Windows 10

听

  1. Open the Windows Start menu. This is the button in the bottom left corner of your screen that is shaped like the Windows logo.
  2. Then click to Settings. This is the gear-shaped icon just above the power button in the Start menu.
  3. Then click on Devices.
  4. Next, select Printers & Scanners. You can find this in the left sidebar.
  5. Then click Add a Printer.
  6. Click 鈥淭he printer that I want isn鈥檛 listed.鈥 Once you select this, the 鈥淎dd Printer鈥 screen will pop up.
  7. Select a shared printer by name
  8. Enter "\\printsrv\"听and select your printer from the list. Printer hostnames are generally of the form <faculty shortform>-<building>-<room>-<optional letter in case there is more than one printer in the room>, so e.g. sci-phy-342-a
  9. If your Ricoh printer does not have managed accounting (i.e. need a code to print), you are all set and you can just print a test page.
  10. If your Ricoh printer *does* need a code to print, go back to Printers & scanners and choose the printer from the list there
  11. Select "Printer properties."
  12. On the Advanced Options tab, select "Job Type/Code Dialog Settings..."
  13. Check the box next to "Display [User Code] Dialog Before Printing"
  14. Click OK, then OK again.
  15. Now click "Print test page" and enter your code when the dialog comes up.听

  1. Click 鈥淪tart鈥 and search for Printers & Scanners.
  2. Click 鈥淎dd device鈥 in the top right.
  3. After a few seconds 鈥淎dd manually鈥 will appear, click that.
  4. Select a shared printer by name
