Connect printer via IP address:
- Determine the manufacturer of the printer which can usually be found as aÌýlabel or symbol on the printer.ÌýÌýÌý
- Record the IP addressÌý(i.eÌý172.X.X.X) and printer name which can be found as a sticker labelÌýon the printer or through the printer's network settings. If you need help locating these, please contact Science Computing.Ìý
- Make sure you are connected to the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ wired network or wireless network throughÌýeduroam.
- Please download the applicable driver depending on the ³¾²¹²Ô³Ü´Ú²¹³¦³Ù³Ü°ù±ð°ù,Ìý³¾´Ç»å±ð±ô, and operating system of your device. Some common ones are linked below:
- Ìý(We generally recommend downloading the "" as it should work with most HP printers.)Ìý
- Open the downloaded .dmg file. You may also need to open a .pkg file depending on the installer.Ìý
- A popup installation wizard window mayÌýappear. Go through the prompts and install the drivers.Ìý
- Click on the Apple icon on the top left corner > Click "Settings" > Scroll down and click "Printers & Scanners".
- Click "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax...".Ìý
- Click the "IP" tab.
- In the Address field, type in the <IP address of the printer>.
- From the dropdown menu for "Protocol", select "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP".
- In the Name field, type in the <Name of the printer>.
- From the dropdown menu for "Use", select "Select Software...".
- Find the driver applicable to your printer model either by series or exact model name and click "OK".
- Click "Add".
- Your printer should now be added successfully.
- You can print a test page to make sure the printer is working correctly.
