The Rexall Pharmacy Group Community Involvement Award was established to support Black and Indigenous students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities. Jocelyn Bonti-Ankomah is the first recipient of it.

A new study looking at national opioid mortality, hospitalization and emergency department visits in Canada has found a nearly six-fold increase in opioid-related deaths between 2000 and 2017.

Despite groups designated as visible minorities being at an increased risk of infection and mortality from COVID-19, higher vaccine hesitancy persists among Black Canadians when compared to the general public.

Some of the reasons put forward by members of the Black community as to why they’re hesitant to be vaccinated are lack of confidence in the safety of the vaccine and concerns about its risks and side effects.

Technology plays many roles in health-care delivery. Through the co-op program, ��ݮ��Ƶ Pharmacy students explore these roles.

At tomorrow’s virtual ceremony, ��ݮ��Ƶ Pharmacy will welcome new alumni from the PhD and MSc graduate programs and the PharmD bridging program.

In early June, the Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA) held their annual conference which included an award ceremony. Three winners were associated with ��ݮ��Ƶ Pharmacy.

Researchers have designed a device that delivers two medications that help stop HIV transmission.

Although condom usage is the best strategy for preventing HIV transmission, the researchers are working to design a device that can be used by sex workers and in situations where women are not in a position to negotiate condom use.
