The University will decommissionWatSAFE, both the mobile app and desktop notifications, by the end of February 2025.

As communicated in May 2024, the University’s central WebEx service, uwaterloo.webex.com, will be decommissioned.

Windows 10 will reach end of support on October 14, 2025. All units on campus are encouraged to begin planning to ensure Windows computers are upgraded to Windows 11 before October 2025.

Planned work will impact availability of both campus wireless networks and wireless and wired networks in University Residences.

The July 1, 2024, date for completion of the mandatory Cyber Awareness Training courses is fast approaching. All faculty and staff are required to complete two brief training courses, which provide an important foundation of common knowledge regarding cybersecurity awareness, including core cyber awareness essentials, data privacy and security, and other important topics.
