Community Leadership Certificate (Staff) Cohort - Spring 2025

The Community Leadership Certificate (CLC) is a four-chapter, community-centered leadership program designed to empower staff with the skills and knowledge to foster trusting relationships, enhance collaboration, and embody curiosity-driven, community-centered leadership. Rooted in anti-oppressive practices, the CLC is relevant to all staff members, regardless of their current leadership roles, offering practical tools to embody inclusive and collaborative leadership. 

The Spring 2025 Cohort is being offered in-person and specifically to staff members who have direct student-facing roles on any of the University of ݮƵ’s campuses. This allows us to bridge the gap that students identified between their leadership learning and interactions with campus staff. Apply by May 20, 2025!

Leadership Lab: People Leadership

Leadership Lab: People Leadership offers comfortable and supportive space for managers, supervisors, and folks leading people at the University to co-create an informal peer community. Using theto guide the conversation, participants will reflect on their leadership style and practices, identify where their control and influences lies with respect to a pre-selected issue, and learn from each other about how to approach challenges arising.

Leadership Lab: Personal Leadership aims to bring individual contributors together to explore how they can lead themselves, and others by example, all while receiving and providing each other with compassionate care.

The Science of Strengths: A VIA Discovery Workshop

Formerly known as Exploring Your VIA Character Strengths.Knowing your character strengths and how to use them is essential to your career growth and development. In this workshop, we will explore our personal strengths using the VIA Character Strengths assessment tool. We will explore how our strengths can be used in new ways at work and at home. Finally, we will learn how to spot and appreciate the strengths of others, including our colleagues, to create stronger connections with them.

Discovering Your Purpose

Format: Online workshop

What is "purpose?" How do our purpose and values affect how we live, work, and interact with others? In this workshop, we will explore the concept of purpose by mapping out our accomplishments, interests and values using the Japanese concept of Ikigai, which means "a reason for being." We will then gain practical tips for finding and discovering our purpose using our personal aspirations. At the end of this workshop, we will develop a personal “Purpose-for-Now” statement that aligns with and reflects our values and goals.
