Leadership Lab: People Leadership

Wednesday, June 18, 2025 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT (GMT -04:00)

Workshop Overview

Leadership Lab: People Leadership offers comfortable and supportive space for managers, supervisors, and folks leading people at the University to co-create an informal peer community. Using the to guide the conversation, participants will reflect on their leadership style and practices, identify where their control and influences lies with respect to a pre-selected issue, and learn from each other about how to approach challenges arising.

We continue to hear from leaders, particularly those new to their roles, that it would be helpful to have intentional space in which they could collectively think through the “how tos” of being the leader they want to be. And we know that many leaders work in isolation, making it harder to seek peer feedback in real time. Leadership Lab is one way in which such peer feedback can be fostered, all while receiving and providing each other compassionate care.

Each meeting will focus on a specific theme connected to the University community.

The theme for spring 2025 is:
Leading Through Uncertainty: Navigating Invisible Forces

In uncertain times, the most significant challenges leaders face are often the ones they can't see – miscommunication, hidden assumptions, and subtle pressures that quietly disrupt team alignment and momentum. This interactive Leadership Lab invites all People Leaders to explore how these unseen dynamics show up and challenge our leadership through hands-on activities and reflective discussion.
