It took a mere three weeks to realizeit was January. No excuse for such tardiness. Only forgetfulness. For now, let’s assume 2016 started in February.
Changes to the FAUW Constitution were approved at the Fall General Meeting on December 9, 2015.
Through FAUW’s affiliation with OCUFA (theOntario Confederation of University Faculty Associations), faculty members at the University of ݮƵ areeligible for deals on everything from gym memberships and travel to house paint and home Internet services through the Edvantage program.
Today FAUW released a survey toour Lecturer members, seeking their feedback to improve terms of employment and working conditions for all Lecturers.
Policy 76 covers appointments and terms of employment for faculty members. This policy is currently undergoing significant revisions, and fundamental changes in the Lecturer position are expected.

This is the second newsletter/update for the academic year. It will be shorter than last time: mainly notices and updates. And yes, I do understand that the last one was not really a blog. Until we get our website updated, this was, however, a place of convenience for my lengthy epistle.

The University of ݮƵ’s Professor Susan M. Shaw has won a 2011 Woman of Distinction Award from the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA).
The award, sponsored by OCUFA’s Status of Women Committee, recognizes women who have improved the lives and working conditions of academic women and, by extension, their colleagues, families, and friends.
