Advancing equity in meaningful, sustainable, and community-rooted ways has never been more complex—or more important.Ìý

This belief guided our work throughout the 2024-25 academic year—a year defined by both significant progress and considerable challenges. The path was not always easy, but our team stayed anchored in collective care, clarity, and purpose. This report offers a snapshot of our efforts and the tangible impact we’ve had across campus.Ìý

This impact was made possible by the dedication of the EDI-R team and our partners across the university. Together, we made significant progress on institution-wide strategies—most notably, advancing the President’s Anti-Racism Taskforce recommendations and the development the Trans and Non-Binary Equity Strategy. We also streamlined processes to support those who have experienced harm and expanded educational efforts like the Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression modules and built a library of infographicsÌýdesigned to encourage critical thinking.Ìý

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished—and we’re equally mindful of the context in which this work took place.  Campus encampments, financial constraints, increasing backlash against EDI-R efforts, changes to immigration policy, legislation such as Bill 166 and elections all influenced the environment in which we operated. Despite these challenges, our team continued to show up with care, resilience, and integrity.

Leading Change in 2024/25: Our Strategic Commitments in Action

In 2024-25, the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism (EDI-R) continued to advance its 2022-25 strategic plan, remaining anchored by four strategic objectives that have guided our commitment to transformational change at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. While our overarching priorities remained consistent, we introduced new commitments and initiatives that renewed our focus, built on past progress, and deepened our impact across campus.
