Well-being tip of the month: Have a picnic with friends or family.
Now that the nice weather is here, consider inviting friends and family to a spring picnic. Picnics have been shown to contribute to through increased exposure to vitamin D, increasing sense of community and connection, providing gentle exercise and increasing the intake of nutritionally dense foods like fruits and vegetables.
Picnics don’t have to be complicated. With the increased number of outdoor tables around campus, they can be as simple as taking your bagged lunch outside. Given the abundance of geese on campus, we recommend you avoid sitting directly on the ground.
Don’t enjoy picnics? No problem. There are other ways to spend time in nature. Consider going for a walk, sitting beside a tree or taking your laptop/book outside.
While outdoors during the warmer months, it is recommended to use sunscreen, bug repellent and to drink plenty of water.
