Addressing Student Resistance to Instructional Innovations (CTE757)

¶Ù±ð²õ³¦°ù¾±±è³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô:ÌýIn this workshop, we will explain why students do not always happily engage with new instructional methods, drawing on your examples and some of those from research done with UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ students. We will then discuss various strategies that you can employ to help address student resistance to pedagogical innovations. 

Learning Outcomes. After the session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain students’ resistance to instructional innovations using the Reasoned Action Approach (Fishbein & Ajzen, 2011)
  • Develop strategies to address students’ resistance

Note: This course cannot be used as credit for any graduate student programs that are offered by the Centre for Teaching Excellence.
