Leadership Team 

The Director of the Centre for Teaching Excellence, Donna Ellis, oversees the day-to-day operations of the centre and develops the long-term plans for the unit in consultation with CTE staff members and other members of the university community. She liaises with the Associate Vice-President, Academic, and À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ's Teaching Fellows.  

°Õ³ó±ðÌý oversees the Senior Educational Developers at the Centre for Teaching Excellence. His focus is on our strategic priorities and overall approach to supporting teaching at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.

°¿³Ü°ùÌýSenior Educational Developers report to the Associate Director. They oversee programming for faculty, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows; support the curriculum design and renewal process at À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ; and provide expertise on blending learning, educational technologies, and integrative learning initiatives.  

Educational Developers

°ä°Õ·¡'²õÌýEducational Developers provide expertise for À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ instructors in various areas of pedagogical development: new faculty development, educational research, writing across the curriculum, and curriculum & quality enhancement. Educational Developers report to their respective Senior Educational Developers.

Faculty Liaisons

Our CTE Faculty Liaisons assist instructors with teaching and learning initiatives, especially with regard to technology. They work closely with faculty members to determine student learning objectives and help them design learning tasks and assessment strategies. Faculty Liaisons report to the Senior Educational Developer, Faculty Programs.

Research Associate

°ä°Õ·¡'²õÌýResearch Associate supports research about teaching and learning with a focus on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and reports to the Senior Educational Developer, Curriculum & Quality Enhancement.

Administration

°Õ³ó°ù±ð±ðÌýadministrators keep the daily workflow on track in the centre. They manage the budget, coordinate events for faculty and graduate students, coordinate awards and grants, maintain a library, and provide general support to other centre team members. The administrators report to the Director and their respective Senior Educational Developers.

Graduate Educational Developers

Graduate Educational Developers are current À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ graduate students who are usually hired for twelve months (three consecutive terms) for ten hours a week. They are responsible for observing teaching events, facilitating workshops and microteaching sessions and providing feedback for participants in the centre’s Fundamentals of University Teaching and Certificate in University Teaching programs. The Graduate Educational Developers report to the Senior Educational Developer: Graduate Programs & Internationalization.

TA Workshop Facilitators

TA Workshop Facilitators are current À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ graduate students who are usually hired for twelve months (three consecutive terms) for approximately 30 hours per term. Their main responsibility is the facilitation of core and discipline-specific instructional workshops in CTE's Fundamentals of University Teaching program. They deliver workshops on a variety of topics in university teaching including lesson plans, interactive teaching methods, classroom delivery skills, assessment and motivational practices. The TA Workshop Facilitators report to the Educational Developer, TA Training and Writing Support.

Co-op Students

The centre hires À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ undergraduate co-op students every term. They help with the day-to-day operations of the centre and assist with special projects as they arise. CTE's co-op students report to the Program Coordinator, Faculty Programs.
