First-year Global Business and Digital Arts (GBDA) course requirements

All of our courses are four months in length. You'll normally take five courses in your fall term andÌýfive courses in your winter term.Ìý

GBDA fall 1A term (September to December)

GBDA winter 1B term (January to April)

Notes:

  1. GBDA 101Ìý and GBDA 102 Ìýbe taken in either fall or winter term. Whichever one you complete in the fall term, you will need to complete the other in the winter term. We will add you to these courses.
  2. If you are considering aÌýminor or diploma, select one or two courses in that subject area in your first term
  3. Students interested in pursuing aÌýComputing minorÌýare encouraged to speak with theirÌýGBDA advisorÌýabout the option to take CS 115 and CS 116 instead of CS 105 and CS 106.
  4. Notes about second language courses:
    • ​The second language requirement can't be fulfilled by taking a course taught in English (e.g., a culture course).
    • Students choosing Chinese or Arabic are required to submit aÌýplacement formÌýbefore enrolling.

  • NumerousÌýminors and diplomasÌýare available. You may want take a course towards a prospective minor or diploma as a first year elective.
  • Note that most Arts courses are held in person.

SUBMITÌýyour Course Selections in Quest.

  • ReviewÌý"HowÌýdo I select courses in Quest"Ìýfor step by step instructions on how to request your courses.
  • Login to Quest and yourÌýcourse language and elective courses.
  • We will add GBDA 101 or GBDA 102, CS 106 and ECON 101 for you.

Don't see all the classes you requested?ÌýYou can make changes to your schedule starting on November 18th at 9 am (EST).

View your Appointment time in Quest: You will have an appointment time in Quest on November 18th. This is when you get access to make changes to your Winter schedule. Once you have access you will continue to have access until the final ADD deadline on January 16th.

  • Don’t see all of the classes you requested?
    • If you didn't get into all of the classes you requested, you must add additional classes (to a maximum of 5 classes in total).

ALERT! ALL À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ studentsÌýhave access to Quest to add fall courses as of November 19th.ÌýThis means available spots in classes will likely fill up quicklyÌýafter this date.
