Shortly after 34 students from Ukraine arrived at ݮƵ last spring, they created a collection of photos to highlight the impacts of the war in their home country. “The main goal of this exhibition is to make people aware what's happening right now and show the spirit of Ukrainians,” says Halyna Padalko, a graduate student who travelled here from Kharkiv.

The Lupina Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellows program is in its second year supporting bright researchers engaged in studies and solutions addressing the social determinants of health. The Government of Canada announced the newest Canada Research Chairs (CRC) including Dr. Naila Keleta-Mae of the Department of Communication Arts. As CRC in Race, Gender, and Performance, she leads a research-creation program that examines existing art and scholarship and creates new artistic work that will contribute to Black studies and Black expressive culture in Canada and the world.

Longhouse Labs project awarded CFI-JELF

Congratulations to Professor Logan MacDonald on being from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s (CFI) John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF), for his Longhouse Labs project, which will foster innovative, interdisciplinary research opportunities that explicitly promote Indigenous leadership in studio arts practices and education.

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada has just the latest round of grant recipients, including 15 Faculty of Arts researchers. Have a look at their project titles and you will see relevance and potential for positive social impacts. Congratulations to our scholars!
