Speakers:
Rebecca Zhou: Hi! I’m a 4A Computer Science student. This year, I’ll be interning at Meta over the summer and NVIDIA in the fall. Over the past few years, I’ve explored a range of areas — from internships at Amazon, Microsoft, and Bloomberg, to contributing to open-source projects. I’m currently an Apache committer working on database infrastructure. My research interests are in systems infrastructure, with a focus on computer networking and machine learning systems, and I’ve pursued undergraduate research assistantships (URA) each term with different professors. Outside of school and work, I love reading, traveling to new places, and building random coding projects for fun!
Jemima Vijayasenan: Hi! I’m a 4B Computer Science and Business student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ (and Wilfrid Laurier University). I’ve been part of Women in Computer Science (WiCS) for five terms now and absolutely love being involved in the community. I’ve completed four co-op terms—two in cybersecurity and two in software development—and I’m always excited to learn, build, and connect with others in tech.
Helena Xu: is currently one of the WiCS co-chairs for S25 and a 3rd year Computer Science student minoring in English Language and Lit at UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. She just finished her internship at Shopify and enjoys reading, hiking, and hanging out with friends and family in her free time!Â
Jane Zeng: Hi everyone! I’m in my 2B term of Software Engineering at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. Previously, I’ve worked at Scotiabank for two terms as a software engineer. At UW, I’ve joined many organizations such as WiCS, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Aerial Robotics Group (WARG), WiE, and am currently gearing up to run orientation 2025! Outside of school, I love skiing, drawing, and playing piano and guitar. If someone ever mentions matcha, I won’t be far.
Nivriti Bajwa: I’m a 3B CS student and this year I’ll be interning at Meta over the summer as a Production Engineer and at HubSpot in the fall as a Software Engineer. Over the past 3 years, I’ve been actively involved with WICS and got the chance to attend Grace Hopper, a Women in Tech Conference in Philadelphia last year with the team- an incredible experience. I’ve previously worked at PointClickCare and Ontario Health, working on everything from backend systems to internal tools. Outside of school, I love spending time with friends and family and am always down to try new food places!!
