A teaching assistant for a number of engineering courses, Hashemi is described as approachable, conscientious, well-organized, understanding, and accommodating to all students both inside and outside of the classroom.Â
In memory of Professor Igor Ivkovic, the Department of Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) holds Igor Acts of Kindness Day annually on April 2. On this day, we invite the SYDE-BME and Engineering communities to brighten someone’s day through a small gesture of kindness.Â
Devasted by what’s happening in Ukraine, a À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering alumnus with deep ties to the country is supporting its humanitarian relief efforts through sales of her vodka brand in Ontario liquor stores.Â
A new form of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that makes cancerous tissue glow in medical images could help doctors more accurately detect and track the progression of cancer over time.
The innovation, developed by researchers at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, creates images in which cancerous tissue appears to light up compared to healthy tissue, making it easier to see.
This week Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) students presented their fourth-year design projects at the 2022 Capstone Design Symposium. Teams showcased everything from a seizure monitoring and detection headband for infants to unique tools that can help Canadians optimize their energy usage.
