In memory of Professor Igor Ivkovic, the Department of Systems Design Engineering (SYDE) holds Igor Acts of Kindness Day annually on April 2. On this day, we invite you to brighten someone’s day through a small gesture of kindness.Ìý
Some ideas for an actÌýof kindness:Ìý
- Tell someone something you appreciate about them
- Encourage a classmate working on a project
- Bring a friend a treat (Igor’s favourite was Timbits!)
- Do an extra chore around your home
- Write a recommendation for a classmate on LinkedIn
- Make a gratitude list in the morning and again in the evening
- Tip a food service worker or delivery driver
- SendÌýa thank you card (in the mail!) to someone who made a difference in your life.
- Put your phone away while in the company of others
- Donate gently used clothes or household items
