Students across the Region attended the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ-Wellington Science and Engineering Fair (WWSEF) yesterday, an annual event that brings together young scientific minds in the region to compete and participate in exciting activities. As part of the event, over 200 students participated in the Energize: Sustainable City Challenge, a tool for students to improve their energy literacy, understand the complexity of climate change and decision-making for climate targets, and gain resources to become sustainability champions in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region.

On April 18^th, the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and the Kitchener Public Library, in association with Power Shift À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region, hosted its Public Lecture: Transforming Energy in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region. There were over 140 people who filled up the auditorium to hear what the future holds for sustainability and energy in the Region.

On March 23, 2017 President FeridunÌýHamdullahpur approved Policy 53 - Environmental Sustainability, creating the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's first sustainability policy.

What do Brexit, community gardens, and climate change have in common?Ìý Attendees at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s third annual Eco-Summit learned about the global, local, and University networks that are building a sustainable future, as well as the tensions within and between those networks.

The David Johnston Research + Technology Park (R+T Park) University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and its tenants have committed to a Greenhouse Gas Reduction Target through Sustainable À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region’s Regional Carbon Initiative (RCI).

On Thursday, November 12th, The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ was the recipient of theÌýStormwaterÌýManagementÌýCommunity Engagement award, presented by REEP Green Solutions.

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ has released its 2014 Environmental Sustainability Report, which tracks the campus' progress across academic, operations, and engagement indicators between 2010 and 2014.
