About the SouthWestern Ontario Research Data Centre

The SouthWestern Ontario Research Data Centre (SWORDC) became a University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Senate-approved centre with a formalized governance structure in 2009. SWORDC has a management committee and a regional coordinating committee.

Staffing at SWORDC consists of a full-time Statistics Canada Data Analyst located at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and one casual statistical assistant to provide coverage. In addition, there are two part-time statistical assistants working out of the BRDC Guelph Branch. SWORDC receives technical support through Arts Computing Office at UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and the Computing and Communication Services at the University of Guelph.

Twenty-seven disciplines or specialties from the three universities are currently represented at SWORDC and BRDC. Researchers from Economics (50%), Health (25%), and Sociology (18%) from UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Guelph make up the majority of users of our resources.Â
