The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ's Science and Business (SCBUS) program partnered with Thomas A. Blakelock High School's I-STEM program for the 2024-2025 academic year to provide grade 10 students with a unique opportunity to engage in entrepreneurial projects that addressed global challenges, blending scientific inquiry with business acumen.

Murto Hilali, a fourth-year Biotechnology and Economics student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ has recently completed a co-op term in Singapore where he had the opportunity to work as a Computational Chemistry Research Student at QDX Technologies; a startup that is working on developing computational tools for drug discovery.

Vanessa Martinez Storin, a Science and Business student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, transformed her passion for photography into a thriving entrepreneurial venture through the Enterprise Co-op (E-Coop) program. As the COO of Virtual Tour Studios, Vanessa developed a business specializing in immersive and interactive virtual tours using AR and VR technology. 

The 2024 FemTech Innovation Challenge hosted by  took place between October 28th and November 8th. SCBUS student, Disha Patel, and her teammates, Varsha Prasad, Maithily Kadam and Rifzah Ahmed formed one of the eight final-pitch teams. Here, they pitched SenseHer, a therapeutic bra designed to support women recovering from breast cancer treatment.

BovEco and iGEM Grand Jamboree

From October 23rd to 26th, Michael Saunders, Vice President of the Science and Business Ambassador Team (SBAT), represented the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ at the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris, France. The iGEM Foundation, an independent nonprofit, advances synthetic biology through education, competition, and fostering an open, collaborative community, preparing future industry leaders. 

A Re-Run of Fusion Conference Highlights and Celebrating 20 Years!

The Fusion Conference, an annual case competition hosted at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, has been fostering interdisciplinary collaboration since 2004. For two decades, this student-organized conference has been at the forefront of addressing cutting-edge topics and preparing delegates for leadership roles in our rapidly changing world.  

From working for a clean energy incubator in Uganda to analyzing sales data in Munich, and monitoring biodiversity in Germany’s Black Forest, Samantha Kremer's co-op experiences have been nothing short of extraordinary.

Toronto was buzzing as the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµâ€™s Science and Business Program made a big splash at the 2024 Collision Conference, held from June 24-27. Collision, one of North America’s premier tech gatherings, brought together the best and brightest in tech, startups, and innovation.
