About NASA Space Apps Challenge À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ
We are bringing the largest global hackathon to the Kitchener-À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ community on October 4–5, 2025, where a diverse community of coders, scientists, designers, and storytellers come together to tackle some of the universe’s biggest challenges.Â
Local participants will join thousands of people worldwide in this two-day hackathon, working together to build solutions to challenges designed by NASA experts. Each year, NASA Subject Matter Experts develop 20 themed challenges spanning topics across software development, climate, space exploration, science education, and more! These challenges are designed to be approachable for all skill levels and to spark creativity, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary innovation.Â

Collaborations
The NASA Space Apps À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ team is on the lookout for clubs and organizations interested in collaborating with us!Â
Possible collaboration opportunities include the following:Â
- Host workshops for hackathon attendees during the event or in the months leading up to it. Workshop ideas could range from data science tutorials and how to nail hackathon pitches, to introductory programming and more! We're open to working with your club’s area of expertise and would love to create something valuable for attendees.Â
- Host collaborative events and games during the hackathon. Does your club know how to have a good time? Help attendees unwind and de-stress by hosting a fun, engaging activity during the hackathon. Ideas could include karaoke sessions, arts and crafts breaks, outdoor games, and more—we’re excited to work with your club to bring some light-hearted energy to the weekend!Â
Promotions
There are also plenty of ways to support this event beyond monetary contributions. One of the most impactful is helping us spread the word! As a student-led hackathon, we greatly appreciate any support in sharing our posts on social media or through other channels.
