Learning objectives:

For each minor ailment condition, participants should be able to*:

  • Describe the pathophysiology
  • Identify possible causes and risk factors
  • Apply the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process (PPCP) necessary for a patient consultation

Prescribing for Minor Ailments (October 2023 Authorization) - Additional Six Modules

If you have already completed the previous Prescribing for Minor Ailments: The Fundamentals course which covered the initial 13 conditions added to pharmacist scope of practice, you may be interested in this smaller supplemental course.

This course covers the six minor ailment conditions that Ontario pharmacists are authorized to prescribe and assess for as of October 1st, 2023.

Modules include:

  • acne (mild)
  • aphthous ulcers (canker sores)
  • diaper dermatitis
  • vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
  • pinworms and threadworms
  • nausea and vomiting during pregnancy
