Rick Perche (His full last name is “Rick Perche,” but he uses “Rick” colloquially as a first name among colleagues and friends) is a PhD candidate in Quantum Information at ��ݮ��Ƶ, affiliated with the Institute of Quantum Computing (IQC) and the Perimeter Institute (PI). This year, he won a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Canada’s most prestigious PhD scholarship, for his academic excellence, research potential, and leadership.

PhD students from ��ݮ��Ƶ’s six faculties are coming together to pilot a new course on climate change. The course, “The Wicked Problem of Climate Change,” is currently open for registration by senior undergraduate students. 

Any computer scientist 70 or more years of age today knows almost every other computer scientist of those same ages, as few were in the discipline during its fledgling days. One such individual from that era is Daniel Berry, a professor in the Software Engineering group at the Cheriton School of Computer Science.
