In the ever-changing world, keeping up with fluctuating financial markets is more important than ever.��The Mathematical Economics program empowers students to predict future economic behaviour and solve real-life problems.

Smridhi Bawa, a student in Mathematical Economics, describes why she enjoys the program,”You can predict economic behaviour using the math you learn in your math courses, and when it actually comes true, it’s really satisfying.”

Surya Banerjee, Director of Mathematical Economics, explains why the program is so relevant. "Nowadays, economics is nothing but applied math,” Banerjee says. “Now that you have a sense of both worlds, you have a tremendous advantage compared to your competitors in the job market.”

"Once I joined the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ, I kind of pivoted towards Mathematical Economics,” says Matthew Kauk, an undergraduate student in the program. “To me, it’s all about affecting change and being able to make positive impacts for Canadians.”
