
David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science researcher Ian Goldberg has been named a tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Privacy Enhancing Technologies.Â
Professor Goldberg’s Canada Research Chair comes with $1.4 million in funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council over seven years (2019–26) to create and expand privacy enhancing technologies — systems that allow people to protect their privacy online.
Goldberg is one of 14 University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ researchers named new or renewing Canada Research Chairs (CRC).The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport, made the  on June 14. Over $275 million will support 346 Canada Research Chairs deemed world-class scientists and scholars.
