• Alison Stephens presented a paper based on her 4^th year Directed Studies Course at the annual meeting of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada held in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.
• Taylor Carroll made two presentations on PhD research projects at the annual meeting of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) in Saint John’s.
• Iris Xing presented her MA research at CPA.
• Amy Barron presented a PhD research project at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management in Copenhagen.

We are excited to welcome two new students to the lab, starting MASc degrees in September 2025!

Our I-O psychology graduate students took the Canadian Psychological Association Conference (June 2024) by storm. They won all three best poster awards (Amy Barron, 1st place; Allister Grapes, 2nd place; Iris Xing, 3rd place), and the best EDI poster award (Pearlyn Ng)!

• Amy Barron presented her research at the annual meeting of the Society for I/O Psychology in April 2024 (Chicago).
• Taylor Carrol, Amy Barron, and Iris Xing will each present their research projects at the annual convention of the Canadian Psychological Association in June 2024 (Ottawa).

• Iris Xing won a Graduate Scholarship from SSHRC to fund her Master’s degree
• Midori Nishioka defended her PhD in Fall of 2022 and accepted a full-time position as a senior behavioural scientist at Social Machines
• Frank Mu (PhD 2020) accepted a new position as Manager of People Analytics at CI Financial
• Ramona was named a Fellow of the Society for I/O Psychology of the American Psychological Association for her scholarly work and other contributions to the profession
• Harshadaa Deshpande completed her MASc in August 2023
• Muriel Tang completed her MASc in August 2022, and accepted a full-time position as Consultant, People & Change at KPMG
• Frank Mu defended his PhD in October 2020. He accepted a full-time research position in industry, as Assessment Research Manager at CodeSignal
• Lauren Holt completed her MASc in Fall 2020 and accepted a full-time position as Consultant, People & Change, in Management Consulting at KPMG

• Amy Barron and Muriel Tang presented their research at the 83rd Annual National Convention of Canadian Psychological Association in June 2022.
• Midori Nishioka will present her research at 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in August 2022

• Amy Barron was awarded the Outstanding TA Award from the Council of Canadian Departments of Psychology (CCDP) and a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship. Amy also won CSIOP’s RHR Kendall award. Congratulations, Amy!
• Taylor Carroll received the CPA Student Section Research Grant, the Pat Rowe Graduate Scholarship, and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS). Congratulations, Taylor!
• Midori Nishioka and co-authors published an article on shortcut behaviors at work in the Journal of Applied Psychology.
• Ramona and colleagues from Europe published an article on reducing cynicism through fairness in the Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology.
• Ramona also received the 2022 University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Faculty of Arts Award for Excellence in Teaching and was awarded a multi-year SSHRC Insight Grant.

The lab will be very busy this summer sharing our research at several virtual conferences:

• Amy Barron will present her research on gender bias in how managers explain bad news in a student symposium at the annual meeting of Canadian Psychological Association (June, 2021)

• Igor Mitrovic will present his research on perceptions of discrimination in a poster session at the meeting of the CPA (June, 2021)
