The new Complementary Teaching Assessment Project Team (CTAPT) is seeking members.

Background

At its October meeting, the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ Senate debated and passed the following motion by senator and FAUW vice president Shannon Dea: “To strike a working group to research and develop methods of assessing teaching and learning complementary to Student Course Perception surveys.”

We're looking for the best (and worst) of all kinds of workspaces, from superbly decorated to stupendously cluttered. 

All faculty workspaces are eligible. You do not need to be a FAUW member to enter – all faculty of all kinds at ��ݮ��Ƶ and affiliated institutions can enter.

My goal coming into this position was to ensure that I left it with a strong organizational structure, sound staffing, a talented successor, and a strong board and, while any achievements are hardly my doing alone, I can say that as a group we have met all these expectations. FAUW is in very good hands.

Faculty association representatives from more than ten Ontario universities recently presented at , including FAUW's president, Sally Gunz. 

"The use of exploitive hiring exists across universities. Highly qualified instructors have no employment security, comparatively low pay, and in many cases no pension or benefits."

In May, OCUFA brought together representatives of its membership to identify the policy issues affecting Ontario’s universities that they view as most critical, and to draft recommendations for addressing them.

It is with great pleasure that FAUW's Status of Women and Equity Committee announces the winner of the 2017 Equity and Inclusivity Award: the ��ݮ��Ƶ Aboriginal Education Centre.

The Equity and Inclusivity Award is a celebration of members of our community whose actions have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to improving equity, inclusivity, and/or diversity at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ.

The Vice-President Academic & Provost has issued a memo, the language of which was agreed-upon by FAUW at Faculty Relations Council (FRC), establishing new guidelines for handling conflicts of interest on hiring committees.

�ճ����Course Evaluation Project Team (CEPT) was formed in May 2014 to “explore the potential for a new course evaluation model that is informed by best practices and meets the needs of students, faculty, staff and administrators.”

The team released a draft report on November 8, 2016, including a proposed course evaluation tool, and requested feedback from the University community.
