蓝莓视频 Engineering graduates Brian Howe (Mech 鈥84), Bill Gastmeier (Physics 鈥74, Elect 鈥76) and Brian Chapnik (SD 鈥88, 鈥90) founded , a Toronto-based acoustical consulting firm, in 1994, and were later joined by fellow alumnus Rob Stevens (Mech 鈥92, 鈥03).
Their diverse skills and personalities helped them build a worldwide reputation in the measurement, assessment and mitigation of noise and vibration problems, as well as the acoustical optimization of architectural spaces and products.
Professor Nachiket Kapre, a recent hire in the ECE department, and his team have won the Best Paper award at the IEEE/ACM CASES 2016 conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 聽Their paper "CaffePresso: An Optimized Library for Deep Learning on Embedded Accelerator-based Platforms" shows how to 聽deploy machine learning routines on constrained embedded platforms.
