We are thrilled to share that CPI has secured over $1.5M in funding through the (NCC)! This achievement recognizes members of CPI as leaders in cybersecurity research and further propels the in making global impact through collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches.

A primary objective of the conference was to shine a light on À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ graduate students, future leaders of cybersecurity research, through a poster session competition generously sponsored and judged by Rogers at the event. Out of 15 impactful research project submissions, the top prize of $1,000 was awarded to Abdulrahman Diaa, a PhD student in computer science, for his work on Optimizing Adaptive Attacks Against Content Watermarks for Language Models. Second place went to Sina KamaliÌý($500) and third place ($300) was shared by Yuzhe You and Jarvis Tse with prizes funded by CPI.

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, today announced it is collaborating with the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI) at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ in Ontario, Canada, to support critical research related to protecting and preserving data privacy and security.

Dr. Alfred Menezes, has launched a short "Kyber and Dilithium" course. The CPI member recently published an online course that introduces the quantum-safe key encapsulation and signature schemes based on lattices that were standardized by the US government's National Institute for Standards and Technology last month.

Congratulations to Vasisht Duddu and Rasoul Akhavan Mahdavi, the 2024 winners of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Excellence Graduate Scholarships. Generously sponsored by MasterCard and BTQ, each of these graduate students will receive $10,000 for attaining this prestigious award. We had many high calibre applicants for this year's scholarships, the competition was the highest level it has been since the inception of this award in 2019.

The Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute hosted a unique interdisciplinary workshop on campus that brought together University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ faculty, staff, and students, as well as industry representatives and visiting academics. Attendees spent an enjoyable and thought-provoking day Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Enterprise Theatre in East Campus 5 exploring algorithmic game theory by hearing perspectives from both economists and computer scientists in a special speaker/presentation format organized and led by CPI’s Acting Executive Director, Anindya Sen.
