Award description:
The School of Optometry Class of 1948 Graduate Scholarship Endowment is awarded annually to a full-time University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ School of Optometry graduate student whose research focuses on areas that will benefit the vision related needs of society in general, with priority given to students who have a special emphasis on the issues that affect those who are without professional optometric care. When applicable the students will hold an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) or a Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science & Technology (QEII-GSST).
The selection will be made by the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies in conjunction with the School of Optometry’s Graduate Office. Award recipients must be Canadian and/or permanent residents.

Varies up to a maximum of $5,000 for 1 full award paid over 3 academic terms.

Eligibility & selection criteria:
- The first priority of the School of Optometry Class of 1948 Graduate Scholarship Endowment is to fund awards that require a matching component such as OGS or OGSST.
- Depending on the Graduate Scholarship needs of the School of Optometry, the endowment may also be used for awards not requiring a matching component. These awards will be given to Optometry graduate students based on scholastic merit as determined by School of Optometry Graduate Officers.
- The Associate Dean, Graduate Studies will select student(s) in conjunction with awards that require a matching component (i.e., OGS and OGSST) and will provide 1/3 of the value of the award.
