
Congratulations on nearing the end of your program!
Graduation and convocation can be a busy time. Use this checklist to ensure you complete all the necessary requirements to graduate from your program and obtain your degree or diploma.
Step 1.
Apply to graduate

Ìýapproximately one month prior to the completion of your degree requirements:
- ³§±ð±ô±ð³¦³ÙÌýMy Academics
- Select theÌýGraduation tab
- Select theÌýApply for GraduationÌý±ô¾±²Ô°ì
- Select theÌýExpected Graduation TermÌýfrom theÌýdrop down list
- Review theÌýGraduation InstructionsÌýand then selectÌýContinue
Those that degree complete:
- September 1 – April 30Ìýwill be eligible for spring Convocation
- May 1 – August 31Ìýwill be eligible forÌýfall Convocation
Step 2.
Verify your name for your diploma

±õ²ÔÌýQuest, check the name that appears in theÌýLegal/PrimaryÌýname typeÌýof theÌýPersonal InformationÌýsection (Quest website). This is the name that will be printed on your diploma.
If you'd like to make changes/additions/deletions to your name (including middle names), submit aÌýChange of Name formÌý(Graduate studies forms website) with the required documentation toÌýÌý(the Centre website) by the following deadlines:
- May 1Ìýfor spring Convocation
- September 1Ìýfor fall Convocation
Step 3.
Verify your mailing and email addresses

Mail address
±õ²ÔÌýQuestÌý(Quest website), verify that yourÌýmailÌýaddressÌýis current. This is the address to which your diploma will be send if you are unable to attend Convocation or convocation is held virtually. Note, if you only have aÌýhome addressÌýshowing, please add aÌýmail addressÌýtype. To avoid information being sent to the wrong address or not being accepted by courier services, review ourÌý.
Additionally, ensure you have an up-to-dateÌýtelephone numberÌýlisted in Quest (required for courier services).
Deadlines to update information:
- June 1Ìýfor spring Convocation
- October 1Ìýfor fall Convocation
Note:ÌýIf your diploma is shipped to you and then returned to the University as it was undeliverable, you will be required to pay courier fees before the diploma is re-shipped to you.

Important Convocation information is sent via email to your À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ account. Please continue to monitor emails sent to this address.
Step 4.
Verify your degree status

You can view your graduation status in the following ways:
- Return to theÌýMy Academics, and select theÌýGraduationÌý±ô¾±²Ô°ì.
- In theÌýDegrees AwardedÌýsection at the beginning of yourÌýunofficial transcriptÌý(Quest website).
Step 5.
Pay outstanding University accounts

±õ²ÔÌýQuest, check whether you owe the University money (for parking fines, library fines, tuition balances, etc.). Your diploma and transcript may be withheld if outstanding fees aren't paid by:
- June 1Ìýfor spring Convocation
- October 1Ìýfor fall Convocation

Next steps

Up-to-date information about convocation, including dates,Ìýtimes, and registration information for you and your guests,Ìýis available on theÌýConvocation event website. You will receive an email to your UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ email address once registration opens. Registration is mandatory for both you and any guests that would like to attend.
Note:ÌýAlumni have access to Quest indefinitely after graduation to generate account statements and to access tax receipts.Ìý
