Dr. Sally Weaver was the former chair of the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Anthropology department and an authority on Canadian First Nations. She came to UÀ¶Ý®ÊÓƵ in 1966. Sally was the author of extensive work about Native peoples in North America, dating back toÌýMedicine and Politics among the Grand River IroquoisÌýin 1972 andÌýMaking Canadian Indian PolicyÌýin 1981.
The value of the annual award is determined by the endowment interest each year. The scholarship(s) will be awarded annually to a full-time University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ graduate student(s) in the Department of Anthropology on the basis of scholastic excellence and the student's proposal for anthropological research.Ìý Selection will be made by the Chair and the Associate Chair after consultation with members of the Department.
