A scholarship valued at $2,000, will be awarded annually to a graduate student registered full-time in the first year of either a Master's or Doctoral program in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management in the Faculty of Environment at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ. This fund is made possible by donations from friends and family of Dr. Bruce Mitchell, in honour of his outstanding career at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.Â

Value description:
The value of the Award will be determined by the income generated by the Fund each year. The goal is to provide at least one Award valued at $2,000Â annually. The value and/or number of Awards may change from year to year.Â
Eligibility & selection criteria:Â
- Full-time graduate students registered in the first year of their Master's or Doctoral program in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management in the Faculty of Environment.
- Students conducting research in the area of Environment and Resource Management.
- Selection will be based on demonstrated academic excellence (i.e. minimum cumulative average of 80%).
- Students interested in being considered for this scholarship must submit a one-page statement (max. 500 words) outlining how their research topic connects to the general theme of Environment and Resource Management to the GEM Graduate Program Administrator by January 31st.
- The Department of Geography and Environmental Management will identify candidates and select recipients, normally in the winter term.
