What’s happening? Microsoft has recently reduced cloud storage for universities and colleges worldwide. As a result, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ must reduce the overall amount of storage used across campus to align with Microsoft’s policies.

What does this mean for you? New storage limits will be placed on your University OneDrive and email accounts starting June 23, 2025.
You may need to work differently to ensure the amount of data stored in your OneDrive and Outlook accounts remain below the allocated limit. If you reach or are over the limits, an error message will appear when logged in to your M365 portal (). The message will include advice on how to free up space.

What are your new storage sizes/limits? You will have 25 GB of storage for OneDrive and 25 GB of storage for Outlook (email).

How might this impact your coursework or research?
- While data will not be deleted, exceeding these limits may affect your ability to edit, store, and/or send files to/from these apps beginning June 23.
- If you’re doing group work, collaborating on documents or trying to access files, you’ll need to pay attention to your storage data quotas to ensure you do not exceed them.
- If you’re a student who at some point is employed by the University (e.g., become a Teaching Assistant), you may . Your storage allotment will return to the student limits noted above when your employment period ends.
