This workshop is a part of a larger project, “Robust Decision Making Using Dynamic Adaptive Policy Pathways for Direct Air Capture Deployment in Canada”, that is funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada through the Climate Action and Awareness Fund (CAAF). 

This study aims to elicit the uncertainties around the future of a relatively newly introduced technology for tackling climate change: direct air capture. Many socio-technical factors relevant to this technology are currently uncertain, such as political and social acceptability, technological maturity, economic efficiency, and energy requirements. The objective of this expert and stakeholder workshop is to help us understand these dimensions and plausible future changes over the coming decades through bottom-up participatory processes.
