PhD student Drew Higgins has been named the recipient of the 2013 Electrochemical Society (ECS) Canadian Section Student Award for his research on nanostructured fuel cell and battery electrode materials, carried out under the supervision ofÌýProf.ÌýZhongwei Chen.

This national individual award, sponsored by GreenCentre Canada, is for an individual working in Canada who has made significant contributions to advance green chemistry and/or engineering, including the technical, human health and environmental benefits. From the :

Grafoid Inc. has signed a R&D agreement to develop a surface tailored graphene material for supercapacitor with potential applications for the automotive and portable electronics sectors.
