Dr. Lena Ahmadi, Sessional Instructor, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ
Lena is a sessional instructor in the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s Department of Chemical Engineering. Since Winter 2013, she has been teaching engineering computation, data process analysis, statistics and probability, and energy systems engineering to undergraduate students and energy analysis and management in the process industry to graduate students.
Lena received her PhD in chemical engineering from the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ and her MSc in energy systems engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science at the University of Manchester and K.N.T. University of Technology. She also completed the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's Centre of Teaching Excellence’s Fundamentals of University Teaching and Certificate of University TeachingÌýprograms.
Working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ jointly with CanmetEnergy, UnionÌýGas and Canadian Gas Associations has given Lena a valuable understanding of the importance of introducing students to real-life industrial problems and helping them gain the ability to grasp key engineering concepts. She is continually bringing to class examples from real life applications, whether by inviting guest lecturers or developing simple industrial case studies.
