Technology is advancing at an exponential pace, bringing exciting opportunities and complex challenges. Often, we adopt new tools before fully understanding their impact on culture, work, and human behaviour. In PD 14, you’ll explore these dynamics through authentic real-world workplace activities designed to help you adapt to technological change, spot areas for improvement and think critically about innovation.

This course was shaped with input from six faculty and industry experts, ensuring the content reflects current trends and real workplace expectations. You’ll regularly reflect on your experiences, track your skill development, and consider how your growth aligns with the demands of today’s fast-changing world of work, all while engaging in real workplace activities.

Discover how technology is reshaping the future of work. You’ll explore real-world scenarios and apply what you learn through activities designed by faculty and industry experts. You’ll build practical skills aligned with the Future Ready Talent Framework (FRTF) and apply them directly to your co-op experience through workplace-based. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Identify the intersection of technology and human processes.
• Consider ethical, privacy and human-centered design principles in the evaluation of emerging technologies and their use in workplace settings.
• Suggest ways to improve the workplace by thinking critically about how technology is used and what it means.
• Advocate for the adoption of technologies as appropriate for the workplace context.
• Identify areas for growth, engage in and reflect upon learning opportunities to promote continuous improvement.

Please note: there is an enrolment cap of 300 students for PD14 (45 students from each faculty and 30 EDGE students).

This course will be graded as CR/NCR (credit/no credit). To pass PD14, you must satisfy both requirements below:

• Receive an overall grade of at least 50% on your activities (1 –3) and assignment plus any bonus opportunities ´¡±·¶ÙÌý

• Receive a minimum of at least 50% on your Major Reflective Report
