What is 5G?听
As Samsung released Samsung Galaxy S20, we welcomed听the first 5G-enabled smartphones.听5G听is the 5th听generation mobile network听that听is designed to increase speed, reduce latency, and improve听the听flexibility of wireless services.听Compared to听4G, 5G networking is expected to enable data-driven industries, smart cities and so forth. Generally, 5G is a technical revolution that allows much more data transferring across blocks of spectrum and enables a larger capacity and better efficiency [1].听听
Future of听5G听
With the implementation of 5G听within our smartphones, it听opens听the possibility of 5G being used in our everyday lives. For instance, the听potential for smart cities听is听increased as听technology听advances. In听that scenario, smart cities would听take advantage of听smart sensors and听actuators.听Sensors are used to measure the critical parameters of the environment, machines, and the human. Actuators听perform an output to control some external device in response to the signal of the sensor.听Within a听smart city,听5G may support self-driving cars;听we听might听also听expect the deployment of new applications including air quality monitors, smart parking, emergency response, traffic management and so forth.听All of which听would听significantly increase the quality of life [2].听
Furthermore, 5G can be beneficial for factories. Robots can听be听given commands听over wireless 5G network to听complete听tasks听with higher听levels of听efficiency and productivity. In the medical industry, 5G may support remote surgery听with robot surgeons controlled in real time by professional surgeons from the other side of the world. In healthcare industry, 5G听would听allow听people to monitor and care of elderly people remotely, which also听would听help听to听deal听with听emergencies听when necessary [2].听听
However,听there are some potential issues about 5G. For instance, there may be increased deforestation due to new cellular towers built to support the technology. Moreover, the 5G technology is costly and is still being researched. Another aspect to consider is that some countries do not yet have the resources to support this technology.听听

Although听there exist potential issues about 5G,听5G development is one of the major technological advancements in the next 5 years听and will听open听the听possibility听to听innovative technology听beyond our current听imagination.听听
