The kitchen has long been a site of both nourishment and defiance 鈥攁 space where survival, culture, and activism converge. This talk explores how food serves as a powerful tool of resistance, from the resourceful cooking of enslaved and oppressed peoples to the current and impending food injustice movements that call to questions folks understandings of a tariff and bird flu. Blending activism, and personal storytelling, Radical Recipes highlights the ways in which marginalized communities have used food to preserve identity, sustain resistance, and build collective power.
The second in the three-part 鈥淩ock Your Thesis鈥 series, this workshop will equip you with the skills you need to start writing a聽large academic writing project like a thesis, dissertation or dissertation proposal. This hands-on, interactive program has four objectives:

In this workshop, we鈥檒l cover the basics of designing slides for academic presentations, introduce you to the Assertion-Evidence model, and give you some concrete strategies to help you make your slides engaging and useful for your audience.
In this workshop, we鈥檒l discuss the purpose of Q&As and defences, teach you how to prepare for questions from your audience and share strategies to ask and answer questions clearly.聽
